The Big Breach 21.6.16 by Michelle Kennedy creditedHUMPBACKS everywhere! Here in the beautiful Margaret River region, we’ve seen whales everyday this season and right now we’re in the heart of the Augusta whale watching season. Lots of close interactions with our vessel, and over the last few days we’ve had extremely active whales, very playfully showing off with flipper slaps and waves, spy hops, head lunges and even full breaching right in front of the boat!! Competitive pods too, vying for attention. And we often see DOLPHINS out there, who seem to be quite happy being amongst the whales. Plus regular sightings over the last week of a lovely gentle SOUTHERN RIGHT whale and calf spending lots of time on the surface near the beach. Having an awesome time out there in Flinders Bay, Augusta!!

BLUE WHALES in Augusta!!

We have been truly blessed to see the largest creature on Earth in Flinders Bay, Augusta! The rare Blue Whale.
Not once but twice over just a few days!
On Monday 6th June we saw a BLUE WHALE and CALF! With mother and baby alongside of us for about an hour. Information from local whale researchers in this region believe this is a first for Flinders Bay at this time of year.
And on Wednesday 15th June we had 3 BLUE WHALES. They came super close and stayed with us for about 45 minutes.
The start of the whale watching season has been superb! HUMPBACK WHALES seen everyday. What a way to top off your journey to the beautiful Margaret River region.

KILLER WHALES in Bremer Bay!

WOW what a season!!! And we’re still going! It’s almost mid-April now and we’ve been having fantastic sightings of Killer Whales and an abundance of marine life out at the Bremer Canyon!

Whales in Dunsborough, frolic in Spring!

HUMPBACK WHALES and their calves joining us over the last couple of days, with lots of playful and inquisitive behaviour from the calves! Plus lots of flipper flaps and waves, as well as half and full breaches! Even a COMMON DOLPHIN breaching! And blessed again by the presence of a BLUE WHALE on our Sunset Tour earlier in the week!!
